Hi Mac- Here are some photos of the vises we made. 2 out of cherry and 1 in tiger maple. We did some modifications to your design and you'll see
in the photo's. Tell me what you think. By the way, it wasn't so simple in the way we made these. It was a real bugger doing the cam... if off
by 1/16" made a real difference, must of made 10 of them before it worked... project was fun to do over all. Notice that we didn't run bolts all
the way thru for the caming system. These have a lacquer finish- furniture grade. Check out the grain on the tiger maple (lighter color) one.
Note: 1st 3 photo's are temp. setup for study / problem solving. This vise works well with shotguns- pump & bolt- not over/under and dbl barrels
that break.
